Fan module failure (one

outlet
• Unit power cord

• Power LED burned out
• Power supply failure
• Connector for PCBA
power cable not seated
correctly
• LED cable assembly
disconnected
Appendix B Troubleshooting
Action
• Determine which fan module has
failed (see Determining Which
Fans Have Failed on page 21).
• Replace the fan module (see
Removing a Failed Fan Module
on page 22 and Installing a Fan
Module on page 27).
Check the power outlet to ensure
that power is present.
Ensure that you have connected the
unit power cable at the unit's rear
panel.
Check for signs that the unit has
turned on:
• Tape drive LEDs turn on
• Fans turn on – listen for fan
sounds
If unit is on, and Power LED is not
on, replace the LED cable assembly.
• Check power supply operation by
placing your hand immediately
behind the power supply fans.
If you feel no air flow, the power
supply has failed.
• Replace the power supply (see
Power Supply on page 31).
Reconnect the connector for the
PCBA power cable to the PCBA.
Reconnect the LED cable assembly
to the PCBA.
