Lighting control is a primary consideration for both residential and commercial interior design. Also, energy conservation has become a major issue for many applications. The Leviton Decora line of lighting controls are designed with these ideas in mind. The Decora line of lighting controls allow the designer and/or installer to mix and match the Timer with other Decora devices, to maintain the designer look of the project and provide energy savings.
Some applications include outdoor lighting, exhaust fans, attic fans, bathroom heat lamps, jacuzzi or hot tubs, pool motors, sprinklers, office lights, janitor closets, etc. Energy is saved with this Timer since lights or other types of loads will shut OFF automatically according to the setting on the Timer.

Liquid Crystal Display: The LCD presents all programming and the timeof-day data for maximum visibility. The back lighting feature is actuated when any function button is depressed and remains ON for 10 seconds. The layout of the LCD consists of 2 vertical time lines representing the daily AM and PM hours. Each bar is divided into 24 segments representing the schedule for each half-hour period of the day. Depicted between the 2 bars is a scale marking the hours, starting at 12:00 and ending at 11:00.
Event Cursor: This pointer's icon is an open rectangle. It points to the half-hour segment of the day to be scheduled. The pointer is moved by depressing the Event Cursor Advance push button.
Event Cursor Advance: This pushbutton is used to move the Event Cursor, to the half-hour segment of the day to be scheduled. The button is marked with the Event Cursor icon. Depressing the Event Cursor Advance push-button causes the Event Cursor to move 1 half-hour segment with each press. Pressing and holding the push-button causes the cursor to continuously advance.
Time Cursor: This pointer's icon is a solid circle. It points to the half-hour segment of the day corresponding to the actual time. The Time Cursor automatically advances to indicate the current time of day within 30 minutes. The pointer is moved by depressing the Time Cursor Advance push button described below. The Time Cursor's pattern of movement is described in the Cursor Movement section.
Time Cursor Advance: This pushbutton is used to move the Time Cursor to the half-hour segment of the day corresponding to the actual time. The button is marked with the Time Cursor icon. Depressing the Time Cursor Advance push-button causes the Time Cursor to move down 1 half-hour segment, after an initial 1 second delay. Keeping the push-button depressed causes the cursor to continuously advance once every half-second. When the button is released, the Timer's internal clock is reset to the beginning of the half-hour segment pointed to by the Time Cursor.
Cursor Movement: The Event Cursor will move along a column to the left of the AM time-line and to the right of the PM time-line.
The Time Cursor moves along a column to the right of the AM time-line and to the left of the PM time-line.
With each press of either the Event or Time Cursor Advance buttons, the corresponding icon will appear one half-hour segment lower (later time) with the icon in the previous position erased.
When the icon appears next to the lowest segment of the column (11:30), it will appear at the top of the opposite column at the next button press.
Event Set/Reset: This push button is used to program an event (turning the load ON or OFF) for the half-hour segment pointed to by the Event Cursor. The button is marked with a solid rectangle icon. Each press of the button will toggle the condition, indicated on the LCD as either a Black or White square, for the time segment.
Load ON/OFF Indicators: A solid Black indicator appears when the load is programmed to be ON. The indicator is not displayed when the load is programmed to be OFF.
Load Toggle ON/OFF: Depressing this push button toggles the load ON or OFF, regardless of the programmed condition. The load resumes the scheduled sequence at the start of the next half-hour period. Continuing to depress the button for 5 seconds after the load toggles, initiates a "hold" condition (i.e. the load remains either ON or OFF until the hold condition is manually canceled). The HOLD indicator will display on the LCD. When in hold, depressing the Load Toggle pushbutton cancels the hold condition and removes the hold indicator from the LCD. The load remains either ON or OFF until the next scheduled event.
HOLD indicator: An icon of a solid Black diamond displays on the LCD, just above the Load Toggle button, whenever the timer is in a HOLD condition.
Load ON/OFF LED: This indicator is lit when the load is ON and OFF when the load is OFF.
Memory: The Timer Switch is able to maintain its program schedule and time of day through a power outage lasting less than 2 hours. To indicate loss of memory, and on installation power-up, the Time Cursor blinks ON and OFF at a rate of approximately once every half-second.
Erase Program: To erase the entire program, depress and hold the Event Cursor and Time Cursor buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds. To indicate impending erasure, all halfhour segments will blink ON and OFF four times. At the end of the flashing, all half-hour segments will be set to White (load OFF). If the button is released anytime before the 4 flashes complete, the display will remain as it was with no schedules affected.
