Communication Options
Ethernet
Ethernet is used for a LAN connection. For connection instructions refer to Creating an Ethernet (LAN)
Connection on page 72.
RS485
RS485 is u sed for the connection of multiple SolarEdge devices on the same bus in a master-slave
configuration. RS485 can also be used as an interface to external d evices, such as meters and third party
data loggers.

ZigBee
This wireless communication option (purchased separately), enables using a ZigBee
connection to connect one or several devices to the SolarEdge monitoring platform. The
ZigBee device is provided with a user manual, which should be reviewed prior to
connection. Information is available on the SolarEdge website at

GSM
This wireless communication option ( purchased separately) enables using a GSM
connection to connect one or several devices to the SolarEdge monitoring platform.
The GSM cellular modem is provided with a user manual, which should be reviewed prior
to connection. More information is available on the SolarEdge website at refer to the
supplied manual, also available at

CDMA/Cellular
This wireless communication option e nables using a cellular CDMA connection for connecting t o the
SolarEdge monitoring platform.
The cellular kit can be purchased separately and assembled during system installation.
The kit is provided with a user manual, which should be reviewed prior to connection. It
is available on the SolarEdge website at
http://www.solaredge.us/groups/us/products/communication (under Cellular).
Only communication products offered by SolarEdge are supported.
Always connect the communication options when the inverter is OFF.
