Removing The Mower Deck - Toro 414158000 Operator's Manual

1. Top spindle nut
2. Flat of the spindle shaft
3. Apply copper-based lubricant or grease to the
threads of the blade bolt as needed to prevent
seizing. Install the blade bolt finger-tight.
4. Place a wrench on the flat of the spindle shaft
and torque the blade bolt to 75 to 81 N∙m (55
to 60 ft-lb).

Removing the Mower Deck

1. Shut off the engine, wait for all moving parts to
stop, engage the parking brake, and remove
the key.
2. Use the height-of-cut lever to lower the mower
deck onto wood blocks.
3. Remove the mower-deck belt; refer to
the Mower-Deck Belt (page
4. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 nuts connecting the
strut bracket to the frame
Note:
Retain the fasteners with the strut
bracket.
