    Introduction The purpose of this manual is to assist with the installation and operation of the Daktronics Sports Wire 4000 Interface (SWI4K). This application is an automated system designed to interface between STATS Inc. (formerly TSN), MLB.com, the NFL, the NHL, and Pointstreak Internet data providers and Daktronics display controllers.
  • Page 8 Output: Includes the port, or the transmission through the port, for data being sent from the Sports Wire 4000 Interface to a Daktronics display. Roster: A list of players along with their jersey numbers on a particular team. Used in baseball leagues only.

    Registering the Software The first time the program is opened, the operator will be prompted to enter a registration code (Figure 2). Email the Serial # to Daktronics at professionalservices@daktronics.com and a registration code will be emailed back upon proof of payment. Copy and Paste the code into the box, and then click Register.

    Main Application Screen When the Sports Wire 4000 Interface is started, the main application screen appears (Figure 3). The top half of this screen consists of 3 selectable tabs: Driver Tab (p�4) • Game Notes Tab (p�7) • Outputs Tab (p�8) •...

    Change Driver The Change Driver button allows selection of a data source. MLB.com, NFL, NHL, Pointstreak, and STATS are all available sources. To select a Data Driver: 1� Click Change Driver. 2� In the Add New Item window, select a data driver (Figure 5). Note: As of July 2015, the TSN data driver is no longer active.

    Add Command Display Commands tell the program what kind of data to output and how to output it. This section will help set up commands to output game scores for available leagues (Figure 7). To add a command: 1� On the Driver tab, click Add Command.

    Game Notes Tab Operators are given the choice to Auto-Display Game Notes or Preview Game Notes Before Displaying (Figure 9). Note: If only displaying scores with the Sports Wire 4000 software, disregard this section.
