Introduction

1.1 Foreword

These operating instructions describe the possible uses, installation and operation of the servomotors from the Siemens product
partner range for SIMATIC MICRO-DRIVE for the safety extra-low voltage range. When installing and operating the servomo-
tors, all of the safety information listed in Chapter 2 must be adhered to. Abroad, the corresponding laws, guidelines, and regula-
tions of the relevant country also apply.
Read these operating instructions carefully before you start working on the drive. Observe the following warning notices in order
to avoid risk of injury or malfunction of the drive.

1.2 Target group

These operating instructions are only intended for authorized specialist personnel with knowledge of electronics and mechanics
(see chapter "2.5 Personnel qualifications" on page 7). Commissioning, installation, maintenance, and other work on or in
connection with the drive must only be carried out by these groups of people.
