Install the Finished Wall

For Bath Only Installations
Brush all dust and debris from the bath flange.
IMPORTANT! Maintain a 1/4" (6 mm) gap between the bath surface and the bottom
edge of the water-resistant wall material, as shown. This gap serves as a contact
barrier if water ever seeps behind the silicone sealant.
To ensure the finished wall material will be plumb, attach furring strips above the
bath flange and against the studs, as shown.
Cover the bath flanges with water-resistant wall material. Maintain a 1/4" (6 mm)
gap between the bath surface and bottom edge of the wall material.
Install the finished wall material over the water-resistant wall material. Maintain a
1/8" (3 mm) gap between the finished wall material and the bath surface.
Seal the 1/8" (3 mm) gap between the bath surface and finished wall with colored
silicone sealant. Allow the sealant to cure according to the sealant manufacturer's
instructions.
NOTE: The tabs are for installation with wall surrounds, not for finished wall
material. If installing the bath against tile or other finished wall material, the tabs
may interfere with the installation. If so, the tabs may be removed.
IMPORTANT! When removing the tabs, be careful not to scratch the bath's finished
surface.
Using a saw, cut the tab off as close to the bath wall and deck as possible.
Remove the tab.
Use a file, rasp, or sharp knife to smooth the rough edges.
