Installing the Software
To install the software needed to use the DVDP, follow these steps:
1) If you do not already have CCStudio installed, install the pre-
evaluation
version
http://www.ti.com/freetools. The CCStudio installation also installs
DSP/BIOS and the TI Code Gen Tools, which includes the compiler
and linker.
2) Install the software on the Lyrtech CD to install the DM648 EVM
Drivers and Target Content. This allows you to use the XDS560 PCI
with the EVM. To perform this installation, follow these steps:
a) In the root folder of the supplied Lyrtech CD-ROM, double-click
the Lyrtech_DM648EVM_Software_Tools_SR_#_#.exe file to
start the Lyrtech DM648 EVM installation wizard. (#_# is the
version and build number.)
b) Click Next. The wizard tells you the version of the Texas
Instruments Code Composer Studio software installed on your
system. Verify that it matches a version supported by the Lyrtech
DM648 EVM software tools, and then click Next. You can cancel
the procedure at any time by clicking Cancel.
NOTE: The wizard continues the installation even if your
system does not meet the supported software requirements.
c) Read the license agreement carefully. Accept the terms of the
license agreement and click Next.
d) In the Choose Destination Location, verify the default installation
folder.

To install the software tools in the default location, click Next.

If you do not want the software tools to be installed in the
default location, click Change, select your own installation
folder and click Next.
NOTE: The target destination folder cannot contain spaces.
The wizard verifies the validity of the target destination folder
name and displays an error message if it contains spaces.
e) Select the features you want to install and click Next. By default,
all available features are selected.
f)
Click Install.
g) When the installation is complete, click Finish.
h) Restart your computer.
