    The installer must use the 3 1/2” lag bolts, flat washers, and split lock rings, when installing an Expert DC system. Failure to comply may result in the X-ray device falling off the wall and an injury may occur. Substituting or replacing any mounting hardware that is provided with the equipment may void the warranty.

    Level Install Master Control Touch Panel ® The recommended configuration is to mount the Gendex expert DC with the Master Control inside the X-ray room and the Master Control Touch Panel outside of that room. (When located apart from the Master Control, the Master Control Touch Panel is referred to as the “Remote Touch Panel.”)

NOTE: Before attaching the Mounting Plate, to ensure you orient the plate correctly, take note of the two mounting studs at the top of the plate.

    Expert DC Installation Manual Install Horizontal Arm 1. Open the shipping carton and locate the Horizontal Arm. Horizontal Arm 2. Read and remove the warning tag. Remove the plastic bag containing the set screw. Set aside for insertion on page 2-17.

Insert the plastic tube enclosing the wires into the opening at the top of the Master Control. Pull the plastic tube toward you slightly to clear the transformer and insert the arm completely into the Master Control.
  • Page 26 Expert DC Installation Manual 4. Remove the plastic tube to free the wires and ensure that the Horizontal Arm is firmly seated in place. Do not make any wire connections at this time. 5. Using a 4 mm Allen key, install and tighten the horizontal pivot brake to put a small amount of drag on the rotation of the arm and to keep the arm from lifting out.

    Installation Install Articulated Arm & Tubehead Assembly 1. Remove the top packing material of the shipping carton to gain access to the Articulated Arm and Tubehead Assembly. Remove assembly from the shipping carton. Articulated Arm and Tubehead Assembly NOTE: Read and remove the red warning tag, but do not remove the strapping holding the Articulated Arm closed or the plastic tube enclosing cable wires.

Insert the shaft of the Articulated Arm into the opening of the Horizontal Arm. Press down until the shaft is completely seated in the Horizontal Arm.
  • Page 29 Installation 5. Tighten the Hex Head Cap Screw. 6. Open the plastic bag removed from the Horizontal Arm on page 2-12. Remove the set screw (part no. 09-06-080012-05) and insert set screw as shown below. Tighten until the screw touches the shaft and then turn an extra half-turn.

Locate the Horizontal Arm ground wire and dress it out the end of the Horizontal Arm to the right of the Articulated Arm shaft.

Carefully connect all wiring harnesses between the Horizontal Arm and the Articulated Arm and Tubehead Assembly (P17 to J17, P21 to J21, P20 to J20, and P16 to J16). 7. Insert the cable connections neatly into the arm opening in the Horizontal Arm by pulling them into the Master Control until the orange cable markers are visible just below the Horizontal Arm shaft as shown below.
  • Page 33 LOCAL Modular Plug Cutout b. For Remote Touch Panel, install the ferrite core, Gendex PN 631- 0038P1, on the 50-foot (15-meter) Control Cable as shown below. The cable should be snugly wrapped around the core, providing three passes through the core. Gently close the core until the latch snaps.

    Installation Electrical Power Connection The device is factory set to 230V AC but can easily be changed to 120V AC. The device can be hard wired for either 230V AC or 120V AC using suitable materials in accordance to local electrical codes.
