3.4 Visual Inspection

Operation of the GI 275 system is not permitted unless an inspection, as described in this section, has been
completed within the preceding 12 calendar months. Conduct the following visual inspection of the GI 275
system LRUs and associated wiring harnesses to ensure installation integrity:
1. Ensure all display units are securely attached to rotorcraft instrument panel, including adjacent
panel support structure, if present.
2. Ensure GI 275 system sensors (e.g., backup GPS antenna, GMU 44B, and GTP 59) are securely
fastened. For GMU 44B, ensure the sensor support bracket is securely attached to rotorcraft
structure.
3. Inspect knobs for damage and verify correct operation.
4. Visually inspect each unit's wiring (including electrical bonding straps), overbraid, and connectors
for chafing, deterioration, damage, or wear.
5. Inspect all GI 275 system components to verify there is no corrosion. Inspection should include
unit enclosure(s), support brackets, and fasteners.
6. For all installed backup batteries, visually inspect the battery pack for signs of physical damage,
swelling, leakage or burning. If there are any visible signs of damage to the backup battery, discard
properly and replace in accordance with Section 5.2.
