Getting started When you first get your tablet, you should charge it and keep it on for at least 6 hours. 1.1.1 Packing List: Standard Model Color options for tablet: white/black (according to your order) 1 x Tablet PC 1 x Power adapter 1 x Power cord The peripherals listed below may be included with the product according to your order.

Micro SD/SIM Card Installation Open the protective I/O cover using a screwdriver. Caution: The SD/SIM card door is opened by rotating, please DO NOT PULL it. Pull out the micro SD/SIM card tray using a pin. Place the micro SD or SIM card onto the tray and insert the tray back into the card slot.
Battery Installation/Replacement 2.3.1 Battery Removal Turn off the device and disconnect the AC power adapter. Place the device on a reliable surface, with the back facing upwards. On the bottom of the battery cover there is a small notch and two small door locks beside it.
2.3.2 Battery Installation To insert the battery, start by placing the upper edge inside the battery compart- ment and then lowering the battery into place. Press the bottom and sides of the battery to ensure it is fully inserted. Press the battery cover starting with the top edge. Press along the edge of the battery cover until it clicks into place to ensure secure installation.
AIM-78H operates on either external AC power or internal battery power. We recom- mend using AC power when starting up the device for the first time. Warning! Use only the AC adapter provided by Advantech to power the device. The use of other AC adapters may damage the device and battery. For users wanting to start up the device for the first time using internal bat- tery power, ensure that the battery is fully charged before use.

Plug the power cable into the AC adapter inlet. Plug the AC adapter cable into the power input port. When the AC adapter is connected, if there is a battery installed, it will begin charging. The charging status of the battery will be shown via the LED indicator. Refer to Section 1.2 (Device Layout) for information regarding the different status indications of the LED indicator.
Device On/Off/Wake Up 2.5.1 Power On The power button is located on the upper left side of the device. Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds to power on the device. 2.5.2 Power Off To turn off the device, press and hold the power button until the options menu appears.
Touchscreen Display The AIM-78H touchscreen supports Android gestures as explained below. Caution! The touchscreen is designed to be touched gently with fingers. 2.6.1 Cleaning and Sanitation AIM-78H should be cleaned and disinfected regularly to ensure compliance with hygiene and sanitation regulations for healthcare facilities. User Interface AIM-78H is equipped with an Android interface for ease of operation. 2.7.1 Home Screen The Home screen is the starting point of navigating the device. Customize your Home screen by adding application shortcuts, widgets, folders, and wallpapers. 2.7.2 Notification Panel Notifications appear as icons on the status bar along the top of the Home screen.
2.7.3 Navigation Bar The navigation bar is located along the bottom of the home screen and features three soft keys. Left key: Back Middle key: Home Right key: Overview 2.7.4 Application Shortcuts App shortcuts appear as icons on the Home screen and can be used to quickly launch any application.

2.7.4.2 Remove App Shortcuts from the Home Screen Tap and hold the icon of the app shortcut you want to remove. The app launcher will show the Remove option at the top of the screen. Drag the app icon to the Remove option. When the icon turns gray, release it. 2.7.4.3 View All Apps Swipe up from the bottom of the Home screen.
2.7.5 Manage Home Screens The interface supports multiple Home screen pages by default. Users can add and rearrange additional Home pages, app shortcuts, and widgets as required. To access other Home screen pages, simply slide your finger left/right across the Home screen.
