Step 5: Powering your washer

WARNINGS:
• Make sure that the voltage at your location is the same as the voltage on your
washer's rating label.
• Do not use a multi-purpose plug or socket.
• Do not use an adapter.
• Do not use an extension cord.
• Do not touch or pull out the plug with a wet hand.
• When you unplug the power cord, hold the plug not the power cord.
• If the power cord is damaged or has any sign of being broken, replace the cord.
Make sure that the power is turned off at the circuit breaker/fuse box.

Plug the power cord into a well-grounded, three-prong, 120V~60Hz approved

electrical outlet, protected by a 16-amp fuse or comparable circuit breaker.
Your washer is grounded through the third prong of the power cord.
Turn the power on.

Step 6: Running a test cycle

Make sure that:
• The power is turned on.
• Your washer is plugged in.
• The water faucets are turned on.
• Your washer is level and all four leveling legs are firmly in the floor.
• The shipping support hardware is removed and saved.
• The drain hose is properly tied up.
Run a test cycle to make sure that your washer is correctly installed.
Leave the tub empty.

Turn the cycle selector to select the Rinse & Spin cycle.

Press the

rock or vibrate excessively when water fills the tub, or when washing or
spinning. Your washer should drain well during the spin cycle.
CAUTIONS:
• If you detect any water leaks while your washer is filling or draining, check the
water connections. See Step 2: Connecting the water hoses on page 17 or Step 3:
Connecting the drain hose on page 19.
• If your washer rocks or vibrates excessively, level it again. See Step 4: Leveling your
washer on page 23.
