FUEL SYSTEM
F U E L F L O W I N S P E C T I O N
Disconnect
the
quick
connect
fitting
from the
fuel rail
(page 7-4).

Place
the
end
of the
fuel feed
hose
[1]
into
a n
approved
fuel container.
NOTE:
Clean
up any
spilled
fuel.
Temporarily
c o n n e c t
the
battery negative
(
cable and
fuel
pump
unit 5P
(Black)
connector.
Tum the
ignition
switch
ON.
Measure
the
amount
of
fuel flow.
T h e
fuel
pump
operates
for
2
s e c o n d s .
Repeat this
procedure
5
times
to
meet
the
total measuring
time.
Retum
fuel
to the fuel
tank
when
the
m e a s u r e m e n t
is completed.
NOTE:

the
fuel flow is
less than
specified, inspect
the
following:
Pinched
or
clogged
fuel hose or
fuel
tank
breather
hose
Fuel pump unit (page 7-7)
Connect
the
quick
connect
fitting (page 7-4).

Disconnect the following

fuel pump 5P (Black) connector

fuel tank drain hose [8]
EVAP canister hose [9]

Relieve
the fuel
pressure
and
disconnect the
quick
connect fiing (page 74).
Release
the
fuel feed hose
[10] from the hose
guide

Remove
the fuel
tank

Instal
the fuel tank in the
reverse order
of
removal.
Connect
the
quick
connect
fitting (page 7-4).
