2-4 Power management

The embedded scanner has three power modes: Operate, Idle and Standby. The Idle and Standby
modes have relative lower power consumption.
The following figure illustrates the state machines of the power management.

① Operate time-out interval expires.
② Standby mode enter is enabled, Idle time-out interval expires.
③ TRIG, CTS, or RXD is active.
④ TRIG is active or a character is received.
In applications where Scan mode is Infrared-detecting, an embedded scanner can be awakened from
Idle and Standby mode by objects approaching into the front area of about 15cm.
