IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

READ AND FOLLOW ALL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
• Review the diagrams thoroughly before beginning.
• All electrical connections must be in accordance with local codes, ordinances and
the National Electric Code.
• Disconnect power at fuse or circuit breaker before installing or servicing.
• Do not use outdoors.
• Do not mount in hazardous locations or near gas or electric heaters.
• Do not let power cords touch hot surfaces.
• Use caution when handiling batteries.
• Equipment should be mounted in locations and at heights where it will not be
subject to tampering by unauthorized personnel.
• The use of accessory equipment is not recommended by the manufacturer.
• Do not use this equipment other than intended use.
• All servicing should be performed by qualified personnel only.
• Allow battery to charge for 24hrs before first use. For two battery models,
allow 48hrs hours.
1. Feed AC supply wires into the junction box leaving 8 inches of wire.
2. Remove 2 end caps screws (see figure 1).
3. Slide out the pictogram panel(s) (see figure 1).
4. Remove and discard the canopy kit.
5. Unscrew the powerpack cover screw and remove cover (see figure 1).
6. Identify the proper hole pattern in the back plate to mount to a standard
junction box. Place a support in either side of the knockouts to be removed and
then knock out with a screwdriver (see figure 2).
7. Insert a plastic bushing into the hole to protect wires from metal edge
(see figure 2).
8. Route wires out the center hole (through the bushing) of the back plate
(see figure 2).

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION
1. Turn off AC power.
2. Remove all components from packaging.
3. Refer to proper section (Wall, Ceiling, End-mount) for desired installation.

9. The system can accept input voltages of 120 or 347 VAC. Connect the green
ground (see figure 3).
10. Feed excess wires into the junction box.
11. Connect battery connector to the PCBA marked (BAT) on the PCBA
(see figure wiring diagram above).
12. Mount the unit securely to the junction box using the junction box screws
(see figure 2).
13. Choose the appropriate pictogram panel(s) and remove the protective film
(see figure 4).
14. Slide the pictogram panels into the housing and screw in the end cap and
powerpack cove (see figure 5).
