To Select the Active Pattern for a Sequence from the Sequencer
Screen
1.
Push SEQS to open the Sequencer Grid.
2.
Touch a square in the grid to select the sequence you want
to work with, then push the INFO button.
3.
On the Sequencer Screen, the letter that is just below the
clock in the top left corner is the currently selected pattern.
Touch the letter to select a different pattern.
Record and Play Sequences
Before we dive into the details of working with Sequences, let's make sure Song Mode is
disabled to keep things simple for now.
To Toggle Song Mode On and Off
1.
Push the SONG button below the screen.
2.
The onscreen Song button at the top right of the Song Mode screen is blue
when it's on, and gray when it's off. Touch to turn it on/off; when you do, the
context display at the top of the screen will be updated to display the current
sequence number (when off) or Song scene (when on).
To Record a Sequence
1.
Push SEQS to see the sequences grid.
2.
Touch a cell or turn a knob to select a sequence cell. The selected sequence cell
will be pink. The context at the top of the screen will now display the number of
the selected sequence.
3.
Push INFO to open the Sequencer.
4.
Touch the Pattern selector in the header to choose which pattern you are
working with.
5.
Touch the pattern mode button (PADS, KEYS, MIDI) to select a sequence mode.
6.
If you chose Keys mode, touch the grid in the top right
corner to select which pad the sequence will play.
7.
Push PADS or KEYS to play the sequence to be recorded.
You can also trigger pads using an external MIDI device.
8.
Hold down the REC button while you push PLAY to start
recording. If you have the global Lead In option set to ON,
blackbox will wait four beats, then start to play any active
sequences and start recording.
