3. The agitator assembly may now be disassembled and the
brushes replaced.
4. Carefully remove the nut from the agitator shaft as it will
spring out.
5. Slide the washer, end cap, spring holder, agitator pulley,
two springs and agitator holder off of the shaft. Pull the
agitator shaft, opposite end cap and agitator holder out of
the agitator tube.
6. Push each brush out of the agitator tube.
7. Install new brushes by reversing procedure.
8. Reassemble agitator as shown in the illustration.
9. Secure the assembly with the nut.
10. Position belt over agitator pulley on the agitator.
11. Reinstall agitator and lower plate.

Belt Replacement
3.4.1.
Removal
1. Remove lower plate.
2. Remove agitator by carefully lifting out.
3. Remove worn or broken belt.
4. Clean agitator.
3.4.2.
Installation
1. Loop new belt (Panasonic Type UB8 only) around motor
shaft and agitator pulley; see illustration for correct belt
routing.
2. Reinstall slide arc into end cap slots, as outlined in the
Agitator Assembly Replacement section.
3. Reinstall agitator back into nozzle housing grooves.
4. After reinstalling the agitator, turn it by hand to make sure
that belt is not twisted or pinched and that all rotating parts
turn freely.
5. Reinstall lower plate.

Switch ON-OFF Replacement
3.5.1.
Removal
1. Remove six (6) screws from the handle grip unit to expose
the electrical connections of the switch.
