Advanced (Recording pictures)
For details on [REC] mode menu settings, refer to P18.
Contrast and exposure will be adjusted automatically when there is a big difference in brightness
between the background and subject, to bring the image close to how you see.
Applicable modes:
[OFF]/[ON]
Note
When [ON] is set, [
[SENSITIVITY] is changed to [AUTO] when [I.EXPOSURE] is set to [ON] while [SENSITIVITY]
is set at [ISO100].

This can enlarge subjects even more than the optical zoom or extended optical zoom.
Applicable modes:
[OFF]/[ON]

Refer to P30 for details.
If camera shake (jitter) is a problem during zooming, it is recommended that [STABILIZER] be set to [MODE 1].
For details on [REC] mode menu settings, refer to P18.
Using these modes, the pictures can be made sharper or softer, the colors of the pictures can be
turned into sepia colors or other color effects can be achieved.

Note
When you take pictures in dark places, noise may become visible. To avoid noise, we
recommend setting to [NATURAL].
You cannot set [COOL] or [WARM] in Intelligent auto mode. Also, you cannot set [NATURAL] or
[VIVID] in motion picture mode.
Different color modes can be set in different [REC] modes.
