    1. Outline Gas leak Viewer MK-750ST-E (hereinafter called “the instrument”) is to visualize direction of ultrasonic sound source (leak source) indicating distribution of ultrasonic sound (sound pressure) strength on image display. It is known that surrounding air vibrates in case there is a leak from a compressed air pipe or others.

    How to handle a battery pack 2.3. The instrument operates with a lithium-ion rechargeable battery. Use only the designated genuine battery pack only with the instrument. When you receive the purchased instrument, the instrument and the battery pack are enclosed in separate boxes.

    3. How to operate How to turn the power ON/OFF 3.1. Hold down the power button《 》for more than 1 second to turn the power ON. Wait a while if you see the boot-up screen shown below. If you see the measurement screen such as the one shown below, then the instrument is ready. This instrument immediately switches over to measurement screen from booth-up screen.

    Displaying saved image (Image Check) 4.2. Follow the procedures shown below to check saved images. Press《 》while the cursor is on “Image Check” on the menu. (1) Displaying image Choosing “Image Check” shows the last image that was saved on the instrument. Following procedures allow you to check saved images, delete unneeded images, and etc.

    Basic setting (Basic Setting) 4.4. Automatic Power-OFF and calendar information can be configured here. Automatic Power-OFF setting (Automatic Power-off Function) 4.4.1. If automatic power-OFF setting is configured, the instrument turns itself OFF in case there is no operation done for certain amount of time in sleep mode (refer to p.21). The instrument shows count down from 30 seconds before the power turns OFF.

    Display setting 5.2. Measurement distance, gain, cutoff, threshold coefficient, and brightness of the display can be configured while measuring. Configure each setting to those are suitable to your measurement environment and location. Pressing the confirm button《 》or direction pad《 》shows you a window on the left bottom of the screen.
  • Page 31 Cutoff (Cut off) ③ ・If you configure cutoff sound pressure peak value, any measurement below that ratio (%) will not be displayed on the sound pressure map. ・In case there are several leak points, the display will not show the one(s) with small sound. Please configure cutoff setting larger in case you wish to measure at a location with several sound source.

    Sleep mode 5.3. The instrument goes into sleep mode and the display turns off if you tap on the power button while you are measuring. It returns to measurement screen if you press any of the buttons while it is in sleep mode. You can save its power consumption in sleep mode compare to measurement screen.

    6. How to save files Folder 6.1. The instrument saves all data in the folder “¥LeakDetection¥SavedData” in its internal memory. Saved file list 6.2. There are 4 types of file to be saved as.     7. How to handle saved data How to copy data to a PC 7.1. Mini-USB side USB side USB cable (enclosed) Please connect the instrument and a PC connecting mini-USB connector to the instrument and USB connector to a PC. You should see the screen shown below when you turn the instrument power You should see the same screen even if you connect the instrument with a PC using the enclosed USB cable while the instrument is ON.

    How to detach the instrument 7.2. Please take procedures for “safely remove hardware and eject media” when completed. The hardware name is “MK-750ST”. Choose the media “MK-750ST” to eject. Be sure to see the message before you pull out the USB cable. ※The message may differ depending on the OS version your PC is running on.

    8. About leak amount display The displayed leak amount is calculated value from the correlation between sound pressure (loudness) and leak amount we confirmed at our facility. The error may become large since measured sound pressure differs depending on inner pressure, measurement distance, leak section area size, leak area shape, measurement angle, surrounding environment temperature, humidity, and others.
  • Page 40 10% if you get 1 meter closer from 9-meter distance, and decreases about 10% if you step away 1 meter. As mentioned above, error gets larger as the difference between the actual distance and the inputted distance gets larger. Therefore, please try to input distance that is as much close as the actual distance.

    10. How to properly maintain your instrument (1) Ultrasonic sensor Ultrasonic sensor is an element to convert ultrasonic wave into electrical signal. Any debris on the sensor may lead to malfunction or cause its performance degradation. Make sure no water, oil, grease, solvent, or anything gets on the sensor. (2) How to take care the ultrasonic sensor Use air-blower or something similar to get rid of any debris, and use soft and dry cloth on the sensor gently.
