4. Unfasten the seat belt (if not already unfastened) to clear
the seating surface.
5. While standing next to the power wheelchair, press the
RED release button under the corresponding arm and lift
the arm up and out of your way.
See figure 13.
6. Carefully seat yourself comfortably and securely on the
seat.
7. Fasten the seat belt.
8. Push the arm down until it locks in place. Note: An audi-
ble click can be heard when the arm locks in place.
9. Press the power button on the controller. The horn will
beep once then the battery gauge will light up .
10. Select your speed by pressing either speed button.
If you are unsure of yourself start out on the lowest speed setting.
11. Operate the power wheelchair's movement via the joystick. See figure 14.
The further you move the joystick from its center position, the faster the power wheel-
chair moves.
Getting OFF your Stride
1. Stop the power wheelchair completely.
2. Press the power button to turn it off.
3. Press the RED release button under the
corresponding arm and lift the arm up and
out of your way.
4. Unfasten the seat belt.
5. Lift the footrest up.
6. Carefully stand and step away from the power wheel-
chair.
