Introduction Dear Customer, Thank you for purchasing this product. This product complies with the statutory national and European requirements. To maintain this status and to ensure safe operation, you as the user must observe these operating instructions! These operating instructions are part of this product. They contain important notes on commissioning and handling.
Intended Use This product is an electrically powered helicopter-like model with wireless radio control via the remote control system included in the delivery. The quadrocopter is solely designed for private use in the field of model construction and the operating times associated with it. The model is designed for operation indoor but may also be used outdoors at totally calm conditions.
Product Description The ready-to-fly quadrocopter has 4 separate motors that drive one propeller each. Concurrent acceleration of all propellers permits the quadrocopter to lift off of the ground and hover stably in the air at the corresponding propeller speeds. For stabilisation in flight, the quadrocopter has elaborate gyro electronics able to recognise uncontrolled movements of the model and balance them out without delay.

Commissioning of the Quadrocopter a) Charging the Flight Battery Caution, important! The flight battery is firmly integrated in the quadrocopter and cannot be removed for charging. Therefore, place the quadrocopter on a fire-proof underground when charging and do not charge the flight battery unsupervised.
The operating system does not recognize any new hardware after connection, because the USB port is only used for power supply. Please observe that the USB ports of your computer/notebook are usually only active when the computer/notebook is switched on. Therefore, we recommend to only connect the charging cable to a computer/notebook that is switched on.
c) Switching on the Quadrocopter For the receiver in the quadrocopter to react to the transmitter signals, the receiver and transmitter must have the same digital encoding (binding). For this reason, it is important that you perform the activation process according to the following description.

Attention! The quadrocopter has two more LED displays at the top. If no memory card is inserted in the quadrocop- ter, the red LED at the front left motor arm (1) will flash. When a memory card is inserted and has been recognised, the red LED will remain dark after activation.
d) Basic Information Relevant to the Control of Quadrocopters Before you fly your model, you should first familiarise yourself with the control possibilities open to you and thereby be able to fly safely. The symmetrical setup of the model makes it very difficult to assign the alignment (front/rear). Therefore, the two front propellers are of white plastic and the two rear propellers of black plastic.

Yaw Function The two right-ward turning and the two left-ward turning propellers balance out the torques acting on the model. The quadrocopter hovers stably. If the control lever for the yaw function (also see figure 1, item 9) is moved to the left, the electronics in the model will increase the speed of the propeller turning to the right (clockwise) viewed from above and at the same time reduce the speed of the propellers turning to the left (counter-clockwise).

Nod Function The nod function allows you to move your quadrocopter forward and backward (see figure 11). This is also controlled with the right control lever (also see figure 1, item 4). If the lever is slightly pushed to the front, the electronics in the quadrocopter change the propeller speeds so that the model will turn to the front slightly and thus also fly forward.
e) Practical Flight Advice for the First Start • Even if the model can fly in the narrowest spaces, for the first test flights, we recommend using a free space of about 3 x 3 m. • The support should be flat (tiles, parquet flooring, or similar) to allow you to determine even before take-off if the model tends to drift off in a particular direction.
f) Trimming the Quadrocopter First start the transmitter, then the model. Push the pitch lever (also see figure 1, item 9) from the bottom position (motors off) carefully forward and observe the response of your model. Shortly before the quadrocopter starts hovering, you can already determine in which direction your model wants to move.

Nod trimming: If the quadrocopter tries to drift forward, reduce the speed until the quadrocopter is safely on its landing struts again. Push the bottom trim button for the nod function several times (also see figure 1, item 2). Push the pitch lever carefully forward and check if the adjustment was sufficient. Repeat the procedure until the model does not show any tendency to drift to the front.
Dual Rate Switching The remote control permits individual adjustment of the control sensitivity of the quadrocopter with the dual rate func- tion. The following modes are available to you: Beginner mode After activating the remote control transmitter, beginner mode is activated automatically. In this flight mode, the quad- rocopter reacts less strongly to the control commands of the transmitter and thus can be controlled very precisely.
Flip Function The quadrocopter is able to fly flips as well if desired. The first flips should be flown outdoors on a wind-still day. For this, first let the quadrocopter rise to a safety height of approx. 3 - 4 m and then let it hover. To switch the transmitter to flip mode, push the control lever for the nod and roll functions from above (also see figure 1, item 4).
Flying in the Headless Mode The movement direction of the quadrocopter always depends on the direction in which the model is aligned with the pilot or from which side the pilot looks at the quadrocopter. It is very easy to give the wrong command if you are not looking at the model from behind, but from the side or front.
Return Function The quadrocopter has a return function where it flies backwards independently. This is the opposite direction from that in which it was aligned when switching on (see figure 18, ill. A). As in headless mode, it is not relevant in which direction the front of the quadrocopter is currently pointing (see figure 18, ill.
Commissioning of the Installed Camera The quadrocopter has an integrated camera that is aligned forward in the flight direction. With the help of this camera, videos or photographs can be recorded on the enclosed microSDHC memory card during the flight. Use the two control buttons at the transmitter to start and stop the video recording or record photographs (see figure 1, items 10 and 3).
b) Recording Videos First switch on the transmitter and then the quadrocopter. If the memory card has not been inserted or not correctly inserted, the LED of the camera electronics (see figure 20, item 3) will flash red. If the memory card is inserted cor- rectly and has been recognised by the electronics, the LED will not be lit.
d) Read Videos and Photographs After touch-down, switch off the quadrocopter and remove the memory card (1) from the card chute. The photo and video data can then be read on a notebook or PC with the enclosed USB memory card reader (2). For this, the memory card must be pushed into the USB memory card reader gently.
Calibration of the Position Sensors If the quadrocopter does not hover stably in place, but keeps flying in one direction, this can be fixed with the trim. If the trim must be adjusted very far, you may need to recalibrate the position sensors in the model. Proceed as follows: First switch on the transmitter and then the quadrocopter.
Maintenance and Care a) General Clean the exterior of the model and the remote control only with a soft, dry cloth or brush. Never use abrasive cleaning agents or chemical solutions as these could damage the surfaces of the casings. The propellers must move smoothly and the motor shafts must neither be bent nor have any play in their bearings.
Disposal a) General Electronic devices are recyclable and should not be disposed of in household waste. At the end of its service life, dispose of the product according to the relevant statutory regulations. Remove any inserted batteries/rechargeable batteries and dispose of them separately from the product. b) Batteries and Rechargeable Batteries You as the end user are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used batteries/rechargeable batteries.
Troubleshooting Even though the model and the remote control system were built to the state of the art, there may still be malfunctions or faults. For this reason, we would like to give you some information on how to deal with possible problems. Problem Remedy Transmitter doesn’t respond.
