Warm water treatments help by dilating blood
vessels in the body, relieving pain and easing the
tension in muscles.
Studies have shown that people who use
hydrotherapy experience marked reductions in
pain and use fewer pharmaceuticals to control
their pain.
Warm baths have been shown to improve both
the ability to fall asleep and the quality of sleep.
In a study published by the New England Journal
of Medicine, people with Type 2 Diabetes soaked
in hot tubs for 30 minutes a day, 6 days a week.
Doctors noticed that the patients had an easier
time controlling their weight and plasma glucose
levels.
