7 Duty Cycle

7.1 The duty cycle of YC-400TX4

The duty cycle is 60% at the rated output" means that for 60 percent of the ten minute period
(6minutes), the powersource can keep welding with the rated output current withoutoverheating. For
the remaining four minutes, the powersource cannot peform welding for cooling where the
ambienttemperature is 40 °C.
Using a product at a duty cycle over the rated duty cyclemay cause the increase of equipment temperature over
the permissible maximum, and result in the deteriorationor burnout of the equipment.
When using the product in combination with otherdevices, such as the welding torch, etc., use it at
the lowestrated duty cycle among those devices

7.2 Termal protection

Welding power source is equipped with a thermal switch atthe radiator fin of IGBT to monitor the
temperature.The thermal switch shuts off when the welding powersource goes into an abnormal
temperature rise conditiondue to over duty cycle or over output current, and stops theoutput.
