INM 4.1 New Feature Description
The Performance Management Building Block provides contract interfaces
offering the following operations:
Using these services, third party client software can effectively monitor
performance monitoring information from provisioned and supported
Network Elements within a managed network, using the CORBA interfaces
available from the PMBB.
INM Broadband Release 4.1
Performance Monitoring Statistics Retrieval: provides the user with the
ability to retrieve PM statistics from provisioned network elements within
the network. Both facility and protection switching PM counts can be
retrieved on a per facility or termination point basis for different parts of
transmission entities such as section, line or path. The client application
can specify the following when retrieving performance monitoring data:
- category: performance monitoring or protection switching statistics.
- facility types such as VT1.5, DS1, EC-1, DS3, STS1, OC3, OC12, OC48,
OC192 or all.
- layer: section, line, path, or all.
- direction: transmit (Tx), receive (Rx) or both.
- interval: 15 minute or 1 day interval.
- parameter PM: a list of required PM parameters.
Performance Monitoring and Protection Switching statistics are available
for the following intervals:
- last 32 timed (15 minute) intervals for a total of maximum of 8 hours.
- current day.
- last 7 days or 2 days for the OC-3 Express Network Element.
Performance Monitoring Trail Termination Point Query: provides the
user with the ability to query a list of Distinguished Names of termination
points, or protection units for a particular facility type such as DS1, DS3,
OC3, etc... The result is a list of all possible trail termination point (TTP)
Distinguished Names supported by a specified equipment type and their
associated valid PM parameters.
