Questions and answers
When should the electric assist be turned on and how is that done?
The electric assist (electric heat kit) for the Johnson Controls JHET Series should be installed if the air handler requires electric heat. It is activated by installing an appropriate 8HK electric heat kit according to the kit’s installation instructions. After installation, the air handler nameplate must be marked to indicate the specific heater kit installed. If no heater is installed, the nameplate should be marked accordingly. The heater is controlled through the unit’s wiring and control system once properly installed.
