DIP switch settings

This chapter describes the Dual Inline Pins (DIP) switch settings for your Instant
Internet 400-S unit, including those for normal operation and for resetting your
unit's password and configuration settings.

DIP switches

DIP switches enable you to configure your Instant Internet unit for a particular
type of operation. There are eight DIP switches on the rear panel of your unit
(Figure

On
The switches have two possible positions: on and off. For the Instant Internet
400-S unit, the off position is up and the on position is down. Use a small
instrument with a fine point, such as the tip of a pen or a straightened paper clip, to
move the switches to the proper position. Labels on the unit indicate whether a
switch is on or off, and the specific switch pattern indicates a specific
configuration item.
