Preface Introduction The EasyLAN Network Setup is a PC confi guration wizard that facilitates the connection of an EasyCoder printer to a wired or wireless network. In simple terms, what you can do is this: • Connect a printer to the PC via a serial communication channel.
Chapter 1—Installation Introduction The installation fi le for the EasyLAN Network Setup wizard is stored on the CD-ROM included in the EasyLAN Wireless Interface Kit and is called Setup.exe. Installation uses a common installation wizard from Wise Solutions, Inc. To install the EasyLAN Network Setup wizard, click the installation fi le and follow the steps listed below.

Chapter 1—Installation • This screen allows you to select a folder where the EasyLAN Network Setup application and its related fi les will be installed. By default, the destination folder will be “C:\Program Files\Intermec\ EasyLAN Network Setup.” To select another location, click the Browse button.

• Press the Finish button to exit. • This screenshot shows an example of the fi les installed. If you are going to use the EasyLAN Network Setup wizard frequently, it may be useful to create a shortcut and place it on your desktop.

Running the EasyLAN Network Setup wizard This chapter explains how to use the EasyLAN Network Setup wizard to confi gure the network parameters in an EasyCoder printer fi tted with either an EasyLAN Ethernet interface or an EasyLAN Wireless interface.
Starting the Wizard • Connect the PC and the printer with a serial communication cable (not USB). • Start the EasyLAN Network Setup wizard (EasyLANSetup.exe), for example by clicking the EasyLAN Network Setup shortcut icon. • The start screen appears.
Chapter 2—Running the EasyLAN Network Setup Establish a Serial Communication • Select the type of fi rmware (IPL or Fingerprint), port, and baud rate in the drop-down list boxes. If you do not know the baud rate in Fingerprint, select “Don't know” and the wizard will check it automatically.

Chapter 2—Running the EasyLAN Network Setup • The printer, that has been found based on the settings in the previous step, is listed together with some additional information. A progress bar is shown as long as the search goes on.

If such a card is detected in the printer, it is possible to load the fi le and reuse the settings.

Country/Region in the drop-down list box. Enter the secret unlock code (authorized personnel only) and click Next>. The EasyLAN Wireless radio module is country/region specifi c and must be set for the correct country/region. Use in any other region may violate applicable law.
Chapter 2—Running the EasyLAN Network Setup Set IP Parameters • Next screen helps you to set the IP parameters for the printer. • You can either obtain an IP address automatically, provided the server supports DHCP (Dynamic Host Confi guration Protocol) and/or BOOTP (Bootstrap Protocol), or you can specify the IP Address, Network Mask, Default Router, and Name Server manually.

If not, use the <Back button to return to the appropriate screen where you can do the desired changes.
