Safety Notes

  • The product is intended for private, non-commercial use only.
  • Protect the product from dirt, moisture and overheating, and only use it in a dry environment.
  • Do not use the product in the immediate vicinity of heaters or other heat sources or in direct sunlight.
  • Do not use the product in areas where the use of electronic devices is not permitted.
  • Since the battery is integrated and cannot be removed, you will need to dispose of the product as a whole. Do this in compliance with the legal requirements.
  • Do not drop the product and do not expose it to any major shocks.
  • Do not attempt to service or repair the product yourself. Leave any and all service work to qualified experts.
  • Do not open the device or continue to operate it if it becomes damaged.
  • Keep the packaging material out of the reach of children due to the risk of suffocation.
  • Be considerate. Loud volumes can have a detrimental effect on your surroundings.
  • Dispose of packaging material immediately according to locally applicable regulations.
  • Do not modify the product in any way. Doing so voids the warranty.
  • Keep this product, as all electrical products, out of the reach of children!

Getting Started and Operation

Turning on the product

  • Press and hold the on/off button (3) for approx. 3 seconds to turn on the speaker.
  • A voice notification confirms that the device is ready for operation. The LED indicator (5) flashes blue.

Turning off the product

  • Press and hold the on/off button (3) for approx. 3 seconds to turn off the speaker.
  • A voice notification confirms that the device is turning off. The LED indicator (5) goes out.

information Note – Automatic power off

  • Note that the speaker will automatically turn off after 10 minutes without action (no audio playback/no Bluetooth ® function). The corresponding signal tone sounds.

information Note

  • Common static discharges (from carpet, wool jumpers, etc.) can cause the product to switch to standby mode.
  • If the device no longer responds, press the on/ off switch to switch the device back on.

Audio playback via an audio cable (3.5- mm jack)

  • Ensure that the speaker is turned off.
  • Connect your mobile terminal device (MP3 player, smartphone, etc.) and the audio input (7) of the speaker using a 3.5-mm audio cable.
  • Set the volume on your terminal device to a low level.
  • Turn on the speaker as described in Switching on the product.
  • Start audio playback on the connected terminal device.
  • Music playback can be controlled from the speaker (if the connected device supports this function).
  • Press Play/Pause (3) to start or pause audio playback.
  • Briefly press Track + / Volume + (4) to skip to the next track.
  • Briefly press Track - / Volume - (2) to skip back to the previous track.
  • Press and hold Track - / Volume - (2) to reduce the volume.
  • Press and hold Track + / Volume + (4) to increase the volume.

information Note

  • Please note that you cannot establish the Bluetooth connection described below if an audio cable is connected.

Bluetooth® pairing

Note

  • Check whether your mobile device (MP3 player, mobile phone, etc.) is Bluetooth ® -capable.
  • If not, then the speaker can only be used with an audio cable.
  • The functions described in this section are only available for Bluetooth ® -capable terminal devices.
  • Note that the max. range of Bluetooth ® without any obstacles such as walls, people, etc. is 10 metres.
  • Make sure that your Bluetooth ® -capable terminal device is on and Bluetooth ® is activated.
  • Make sure that your Bluetooth ® -capable terminal device is visible for other Bluetooth ® devices.
  • Make sure that the speaker is located within the Bluetooth ® range of max. 10 metres.
  • Turn on the speaker as described in 4.1 Turning on the product.
  • The speaker automatically searches for a connection.
  • Open the Bluetooth ® settings on your terminal device and wait until "Hama Mini Drum" appears in the list of Bluetooth ® devices found.
  • Select "Hama Mini Drum" and wait until you hear the speaker emit a voice notification and the speaker is listed as connected in the Bluetooth settings on your terminal device. The LED indicator (5) lights up steady blue.
  • Start and stop audio playback on your terminal device or using Play/Pause (3) on the speaker.
  • Alternatively, the music playback may be controlled from the speaker, as described in 4.3 Audio playback via an audio cable (3.5-mm jack).

information Note – Bluetooth ® password
Some devices require a password to connect to another Bluetooth ® device.

  • To connect to the loudspeaker, enter the password 0000 when prompted to enter from your terminal.

information Note – Impaired connection
After a successful initial connection of the loudspeaker and the terminal, the connection is made automatically. If the Bluetooth connection does not recover automatically, check the following:

  • In the Bluetooth ® settings of the terminal, check whether Hama Mini Drum is connected. If not, repeat the steps under Bluetooth initial connection.
  • Check that the equipment and the speakers are less than 10 meters apart. If not, reduce the distance of the devices.
  • Check whether obstacles affect range. If so, position the devices closer together.

Automatic Bluetooth® connection (after successful pairing)

  • Make sure that your Bluetooth ® -capable terminal device is on and Bluetooth ® is activated.
  • Make sure that your Bluetooth ® -capable terminal device is visible for other Bluetooth ® devices.
  • Make sure that the speaker is located within the Bluetooth ® range of max. 10 metres.
  • Turn on the speaker as described in "Turning on the product".
  • The LED indicator (5) lights up steady blue.
  • Start and stop audio playback on your terminal device or using Play/Pause (3) on the speaker.
  • Alternatively, the music playback may be controlled from the speaker, as described in "Audio playback via an audio cable (3.5-mm jack)".

Hands-free function

You can use the speaker as a hands-free set for your mobile phone. For this function, the mobile phone must be connected to the speaker via Bluetooth ®.

  • Make sure that your mobile phone is connected to the Bluetooth ® speaker.
  • Press the on/off button (1) to accept the call.
  • Press the on/off button (1) once more to end the call.
  • Press the on/off button (1) twice in a row to reject an incoming call.
  • Press the on/off button (1) twice in a row to redial.

information Note – Call quality

  • To increase the call quality, make sure that you are near the speaker with your mobile phone during the call.

Battery charging function

  • Connect the included USB charging cable to the speaker's USB port (6).
  • If the battery level is less than 20%, an announcement will play once per minute. You will only receive this information if the speaker is on.
  • Connect the unused plug on the USB cable to an available USB port on your computer or another suitable USB terminal device.
  • The LED indicator (5) lights up red while charging is in progress. When the battery is fully charged, the red LED indicator (5) goes out.
