    • check the function of the seat switch. Replace the seat switch if it is not operating properly (is not opening or closing) and if the cause can not be determined. If you cannot locate the problem contact your Hustler ® Dealer. The safety interlock system should always function per steps 4 and 5.
  • Page 23: Stopping The Engine

    The following steps are the correct procedures for starting another vehicle. Tie the mower down securely using straps, chains, cables, or ropes. Both front and rear straps should be the engine. If difficulty is encountered, contact the Hustler ® directed down and outward from the machine.

  • Page 33 Comparison of Warped and Straight Blades A 5/8" wrench is required to remove the 7/16" cap screw holding the blade to the spindle shaft. NOTE: A blade holding tool (part number 381442) is available from Hustler Turf ® Equipment. It is designed to prevent the blades from rotating when they are being removed or installed on the spindle.

  • Page 35 Steering Control Lever Adjustment The steering control levers can be adjusted for operator comfort. To pivot the upper control levers forward or rearward, loosen the cap screws that attach the upper control lever to the lower lever. Then, pivot the upper control lever.

A consistently applied preventative maintenance program, as outlined in the Maintenance section of this manual, will prevent many problems.
