Set the on/off switch (10) to the I/ON
position.
Open the throttle using the throttle trigger
(6).
Pull the starter handle (11) to start the
motor. Once the engine is running, slowly
open the choke fully.
Increase the motor speed to maximum
using the throttle lever (6).
The vibrations will cause the compactor to
move forwards. Use the handle to control it.
Walk slowly and steadily to avoid losing
control.
Switch the motor off after use by setting the
on/off switch to the O/OFF position.
Useful advice
The plate compactor is designed to
compact asphalt and granular material,
such as gravel, by means of vibrations.
If possible, smooth over and level the area
to be compacted before starting work.
If the water content of the surface is too
low, it cannot be compacted adequately. If
it is too high, the vibrations will leave holes
full of water, which will reduce the surface's
load-bearing capacity. Dry surfaces should
be dampened before using the compactor.
If the water content is very high, the motor
will cut out.
transport and storage
The plate compactor can be transported
using the wheels (3). Please remember
that the compactor is very heavy and may
therefore be difficult to move up and down
slopes. To save space, the handle can be
folded away for storage by loosening the
lock knobs (4).
cleaning and maintenance
checking the engine oil
The plate compactor must be standing on a
level surface.
Unscrew the dipstick, remove and wipe. Re-
insert it without tightening.
Take it out and read off the oil level, which
should be between the markings on the
dipstick. If necessary, top up with fresh oil
and tighten the dipstick.
