ARNING Risk of accident when di eren-
tial lock is engaged on a rm surface
If you engage di erential locks on a rm and
non-slip surface, you may lose control of the
vehicle.
Always disengage the di erential locks
#
immediately on a rm, high-traction sur-
face.

ARNING Risk of accident due to deacti-
vated driving safety systems
When the di erential locks are engaged, ABS,
®
4ETS, ESP
and BAS are deactivated.
Because of this, the wheels can lock while
braking and the braking distance is increased.
Always disengage the di erential locks
#
immediately on a rm, high-traction sur-
face.
Di erential locks improve the traction of the vehi-
cle when driving o -road and fording.
The vehicle has three di erential locks:
the di erential lock for the transfer case
R
disables the rotational speed compensation
between the front and rear axles.
the di erential lock for the rear axle
R
bles the rotational speed compensation
between the wheels of the rear axle.
the di erential lock for the front axle
R
bles the rotational speed compensation
between the wheels of the front axle.
