Support information Should you need technical support for your cNODE Micro system you must contact a Kongsberg Maritime office. A list of all our offices is available on our website. You can also contact our main support office in Norway.
  • Page 10: General Acoustic Considerations

Micro Instruction Manual General acoustic considerations Take this information into consideration when deploying the transponders. Acoustic range The term depth rating should not be confused with the term acoustic range. The acoustic range is dependent on many factors, and some of the factors are outside the control of the user.
  • Page 11 General acoustic considerations Sound velocity and ray bending Variations in water temperature affects the velocity of sound through the water column, and variations in the ocean’s salinity level can bend the acoustic signal making it impossible for the signal to reach the vessel. 426351/C...

  • Page 15: Connecting The Transponder To External Power And Responder Signals

Getting started Further requirements It is recommended to test the transponder with the Test and Configuration unit (TTC) to make sure it is working properly before operation. Connecting the transponder to external power and responder signals The transponder can also be used as a responder unit. Prerequisites The transponder must be charged before use.

All transponders have the default channel numbers on the label. cNODE Micro only operates in Cymbal mode and uses the channels M01 - M56 for SSBL and M57 - M62 for LBL interrogation. Channels such as B12 are not supported, as they are for FSK use.
  • Page 17: Installing The Transponder In Older Versions Of Apos

APOS APOS and HiPAP supports these transponders. Context Older versions of APOS may not support the cNODE Micro fully. When you open the menu in APOS, there is no information about the fact that the cNODE New Transponder Micro transponder only can use Cymbal and not FSK.
  • Page 18: Changing The Transponder Channel

APOS online help as usual. Context The cNODE Micro transponders do not support FSK, and use only the M-channels. If you by mistake change the transponder channel from Mxx to Bxx in APOS, the transponder will not respond to commands and it keeps the original channel.
