WARNING
The particle respirator can only be used for the purpose specified here.
Misuse can cause illness or death!
The particle respirator reduces the quantity of harmful particles in the inhaled air. It can be used
to protect against solid nonvolatile particles resulting, for example, from grinding, polishing,
brushing, sawing, or mineral processing, and liquid (non-oil) particles or particulate aerosols that
do not contain oil.
When selecting respirator protection products, conform to national and local laws and regulations,
such as GB/T18664-2002. The harmful substance database of Dräger Voice
(see www.draeger.com/voice) and application recommendations from Dräger can be used as an
aid for correct selection.
Approval
Dräger X-plore 1095 ear loop has been tested and approved according to GB 2626-2006,
protection level KN95.
Limitations in the intended use
•
The particle respirator must not be used as protection against gases, vapours, paint sprays,
or chemical, biological, radioactive and nuclear warfare agents.
•
The particle respirator does not provide oxygen, and cannot be used when oxygen content of
the ambient air is below 19.5%.
•
Never enter unventilated tanks, pits, canals, and so on when wearing the particle respirator.
•
We recommend the respirator only be used in one single work shift of max eight hours.
•
The particle respirator does not include complete warning notices or recommendations of use
for personnel in the health sector or other areas, where contact with infectious germs or
biologically harmful substances is possible. Information on this topic is available from the
hygiene officer or Dräger. The chapter "Additional notes on the use against infectious germs
and biologically harmful substances" must always be observed.
•
The particle respirator is not intended for use as the surgical mask.
•
Never use the particle respirator in atmospheres containing oil aerosols.
•
Never use the particle respirators as protection against radioactive particles and radiation.
The particle respirators only reduce the percentage of radioactive particles in the inhaled air.
•
The ambient conditions (especially the type and concentration of pollutants) must be known.
The maximum permitted concentration of the pollutants in the ambient air must not be
exceeded. Observe the limit values and limitations of use for the particle respirator.
•
Never use the particle respirators in atmospheres with contaminant concentrations that
exceed ten times of the limit value given by National Standard of Occupational Health, or other
applicable regulations and laws, whichever is lower.
•
General note on the use of particle respirators: Asbestos, silica, sandblast particles, lead,
arsenic, 4,4' methylene dianiline (MDA), cadmium, and carcinogenic substances are
particularly damaging. Dräger recommends you to use other filter devices, such as
non-powered air-purifying respirators (including half masks and full face masks) or powered
air purifying respirators, when working with these substances, or if you are in any doubt re-
garding the selection and use of particle respirators. Check also local regulation and do not
use the particle respirator if applicable regulation (including local laws) requires higher filter
class or other filter devices.
Notes on usage
WARNING
You must not use particle respirator in case of any confusion about the using pur-
pose or conditions. Strictly observe the following notes during use.
Misuse can cause illness or death!
•
The user must be familiar with use of particle respirator. Observe the national rules and
regulations on the use of respiratory equipment, such as GB/T18664-2002.
•
You must ensure that ambient atmosphere cannot change unfavourably.
•
Check the suitability of the particle respirator, including identification and expiry date.
•
Protect the particle respirator against moisture and dirt, and store it in original packaging.
•
Do not use damaged or used particle respirator, or that from damaged packaging.
•
Do not modify particle respirator.
•
Do not use the particle respirator whose storage date has expired (check details on the
packaging).
•
Leave the working area immediately if breathing gets difficult, or dizziness, nausea, or illness
occurs.
•
The particle respirator cannot be worn by people wearing a beard or having other character-
istics preventing a tight seal between the face and the sealing line of the particle respirator.
Instructions for Use
•
People with breathing difficulties (for example asthma) or heart disease should consult a
physician and undergo a medical examination before use.
•
For hygienic reason, particle respirator cannot be worn by several people.
•
The particle respirator is not designed for children.
Additional notes on the use against infectious germs and biologically harmful substances
•
Particle respirator can reduce the quantity of biologically harmful substances (for example
mold, anthrax bacteria, tuberculosis bacteria, bird flu, and SARS virus) in the inhaled air.
However, particle respirator cannot preclude the risk of infection or illness. Inhaling an
individual agent can be dangerous and lead to serious illness. No legal or official limits have
been defined for these substances.
•
Do not remove particle respirator in contaminated areas! The outer surface of the particle
respirator must always be treated as if contaminated. After removing the particle respirator,
wash your hands immediately.
•
Particle respirator does not prevent infection by other ways (for example, contact
contaminated objects with mouth, nose, or eyes, or eat contaminated food). Frequent washing
hands can reduce the risk of infection, but not eliminate it.
•
Always observe the recommendations of the responsible national authorities.
•
If a particle respirator contacts biologically harmful substances, it must be disposed of in
accordance with the applicable waste disposal regulations.
•
Only use the particle respirator once.
Before use
The employer/user must ensure the following before first using:
•
Particle respirator must fit correctly to ensure proper sealing.
•
Personal protective equipment must be compatible with other personal protective equipment
worn at the same time (for example, eye protection).
•
Personal protective equipment must be suitable for the respective workplace conditions.
•
Personal protective equipment must match the ergonomic requirements and health
requirements of the wearer.
Use
•
Select a particle respirator in accordance with the intended use.
•
Take out the particle respirator from packaging.
•
Ensure that no holes exist on the particle respirator.
•
Pull the straps on two sides of the mask outwards simultaneously to open the mask, with the
nose clip end above (see Figure A).
•
Cover your mouth and nose with the chin against the inner mask. Pull the straps over ears
and reside on the back of ears.Adjust the mask to comfortable position (see Figure B).
•
Shape the nose clip to your nose by pushing the clip inwards from centre to both ends with
your index and middle fingers. Make sure the nose area fits tightly (see Figure C).
•
Check the airtightness of the particle respirator for each using! Cover the respirator with both
hands and exhale. The respirator should inflate slightly. If air escapes at the sides of the
respirator, re-adjust the respirator and re-shape the nose clip until passing the airtightness
check (see Figure D).
WARNING
If the particle respirator does not fit properly, you must not enter contaminated area.
Misuse can cause illness or death!

Period of use
General valid standard values for the period of use cannot be provided because these depend
heavily on external conditions, for example type and concentration of the pollutant, respiratory
volume of the wearer of the appliance, humidity, and temperature.
The user notes the end of the using period by more difficult breathing or increased resistance to
breathing.
We recommend the respirator only be used in one single work shift of max eight hours. Do not
clean or store the used particle respirators; they must be disposed of properly.
Storage and care
Store the particle respirator in original packaging at a cool, dry, and clean location protected
against damage. Avoid direct sunlight. Dispose of damaged particle respirators.
Dispose of particle respirator after the expiry date has passed.
Storage conditions: See details on top of the packaging box.
Disposal
Dispose of used particle respirators in accordance with the local waste disposal regulations.
