This product constitutes an integral part of the automation system, therefore it must be disposed of along with it.
As in installation, also at the end of product lifetime, the disassembly and scrapping operations must be performed by qualified personnel.
The instructions detailed for the disposal of the product are contained in the manuals of the IRW and IBW interfaces. These manuals may also be from www.niceforyou.com.
Important Safety Instructions: Keep these instructions. • For the safety of people it is important to follow these instructions. Before you start work, read this manual carefully.
This device (TCW1 or TCW2) is a sensor for a sensitive edge, with the ability to transmit by radio to a second device (the IBW or IRW interface), the data it captures regarding the state of the edge. These three elements (edge, sensor and interface) form a wireless detection and communication system (i.e. without the aid of electrical wires) between a sensitive edge and the control unit that controls the automation of a gate or a garage door or the like. TCW1/2 is equipped with Nice Solemyo Air Net System radio technology and is only compatible with devices that use this technology.
The system works as follows: when the sensitive edge intervenes due to an obstacle that is accidentally on the trajectory of the moving gate/door, the sensor (TCW1 or TCW2) detects the motion and transmits it via radio to the interface (IBW o IRW). The interface reports the event to the control unit to which it is connected by cable. The control unit in turn controls the safety actions required (e.g., stopping and quickly reversing the maneuver in progress).
The communication between the parts of the system is encoded with high safety techniques that enable all devices of the system to potentially fall under Category 2 of safety against failures, according to EN 13849-1 (which replaced EN 954-1). Therefore, these devices can be used in PSPE systems conforming to standard EN 12978. In any case, to obtain Category 2, refer to the instructions in the manual mentioned in Chapter 3.
The TCW1 and TCW2 sensors have the same functional and technical characteristics; differ only in their power supply. The TCW2 model is powered by a photovoltaic cell that converts sunlight into electricity, accumulating it in a rechargeable battery. This makes the model unsuitable for installation in enclosed spaces (e.g., garages) or in areas that remain in the dark for most of the day. The TCW1 model is powered exclusively by two non-rechargeable alkaline batteries which must be replaced when they are depleted. This model can be installed in closed or open areas. The sensor can be connected to a constant 8.2 ohm resistance edge or a photo-optical capsule edge, in the specific a very low energy version. Any use other than that described or use in environmental conditions other than those indicated in this manual is to be considered improper and is prohibited!
This device is not a complete wireless system, but only a component of this system. Therefore, to install it you must obtain a sensitive edge and an interface (IRW or IBW) with the relative instructions manual, to refer to for all activities: installation and connections, programming, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, disposal, etc.. The IRW and IBW interface manuals can be downloaded from the website www.niceforyou.com.
In order to improve our products, Nice S.p. A. reserves the right to change the technical characteristics at any time and without notice, while still providing the original features and intended use. Note: all the technical characteristics refer to a temperature of 20°C.
Note: (*) - The range of the transmitting devices may be affected by other devices operating in the vicinity at the same frequency (such as earphones, alarm systems, etc.), causing interference in the system. In cases of strong interference, the manufacturer cannot provide any guarantee as to the actual range of its radio devices. (**) - If the TCW2 sensor is coupled to a sensitive photo-optical type edge, the maximum number of maneuver cycles per day will be less than the declared number, depending on the duration of the maneuver.
