PRODUCT MAINTENANCE
MAINTENANCE TIPS
Helix products require very little maintenance, but attention to the following points can
ensure that your Helix lateral trainer looks good and performs well for years to come.
Keep Product Level:
During installation, place your Helix on a flat, level surface. Adjust the rubber leveler feet
downward to ensure that the product is stable and does not rock or sway. Secure the leveler
feet in position by screwing the nut upward, against the product frame. Not leveling a
product properly can create noise and premature wear on internal components.
Avoid Liquids and Humidity:
To avoid corrosion, do not install the product near swimming pools, saunas, and damp, sea
or humid air. Keep the product dry and clean. This product is meant for indoor use only.
Do not use cleaners with harsh chemicals or abrasives on this product. Windex, Comet, and
other harsh cleaners can damage this product. Avoid them.
Never spill or pour liquid on the product. Keep sweat off the product as much as possible.
Wipe this product clean with a lint-free towel dampened lightly with a mixture of Simple
Green and water.
Inspect for Looseness:
Periodically inspect this product for loose parts. In particular, inspect the following
connections:
• the crank arm connection to the main shaft
• the handlebars to the body of the product
• the upright post to the base of the product
• the pedal frames to the crank arms
• the stabilizers to the main frame
Keep all connections secure per spec. (Some of these tasks require the work of an authorized
service technician.)
Periodically inspect timing belts and drive belts for wear. Replace belts as needed to avoid
breakage.
Prevent Noise:
This product has several moving parts. It can be expected to make some sound. However,
noise can be lessened through regular maintenance.
• On the big gears under the main covers, put a small dab of white lithium grease from a
tube onto each tooth of one gear. Then operate the product. Use a clean towel to wipe
off excess grease. Apply as necessary. (Don't use the spray-on type of white lithium
grease for this purpose.)
