Buttons can be sewn on with the sewing machine. Buttons with 2 or 4 holes can be attached.

Use the button sewing foot (f)
1.
Slide the feed dog lever to position
dog.
2.
Place the work under the foot and the button in the desired
position. Then lower the foot.
3.
Select the buttonhole sewing stitch and adjust the stitch
width according to the distance between the two holes of
the button.
4.
Turn the handwheel (25) to check that the needle goes
cleanly into the left and right holes of the button.
5.
For buttons with 4 holes, sew through the front two holes
first, push work forward and then sew through the back two
holes as shown in the picture on the left.
Alternatively, you can sew the button sewing stitch cross-
wise as shown in the illustration on the right. When you
finish the work, move the feed dog lever to the raised feed
dog mark.
NOTE
The feed dog can only be moved up by turning the handwheel!
