IO Wiring

If your system uses optional peripheral or control devices, additional wiring is required. Use
wire that conforms to the wire specifications shown in the Application Drawings Package, Cable
Specifications sheet. Observe all special certification requirements for installation in your
location.
Note
External connections to inputs / outputs must be powered from a limited source of supply.
3.8.2

Tubing Connections

See the Application Drawing Package, Block Diagram Utility Connections and Plumbing
Diagram sheets for analyzer requirements.
● For an analyzer with an FID, connect a length of clean stainless steel tubing to the plant air
supply and run it to the inlet port on the separately mounted Air Treater. Then, run a length
of clean stainless steel tubing from the outlet port on the Air Treater to the appropriate port
on the Maxum II as per the information on the Application Drawing Package.
● One at a time, remove the plug from the utility gas input line, purge the line, and then turn
off the supply to that line. Then connect the line to the stainless tubing at the appropriate
analyzer ports for that line as per the information in the Application Drawing package.
Repeat for each line.
● The analyzer oven exhaust vent(s) should be routed outside the building or shelter. See the
above warning concerning vent lines.
● Remove the plugs from the sample supply lines. If Siemens is supplying the sampling
system, the sample conditioning portion will probably be mounted in a cabinet or on a panel
beneath the analyzer oven. Connect the sample supply lines to the port labeled by their
stream numbers on the side of the cabinet or on the panel; refer to the Application Drawing
Package, Sampling System Connections sheet.
● Remove the plug from the calibration standard supply line. Connect the line to the correct
calibration standard port; refer to Application Drawing Package, Sampling System
Connections sheet.
● Connect drain (or return) lines as required to the appropriate sampling system vent. See the
Application Drawing Package, Sampling System Connections sheet.
