Choosing the Appropriate Cellular Router Kit

Upon completion of the site survey, you will be able to classify the cellular signal strength at the BAS
location (strong, moderate, or poor).

Internal Mount Kit (Part# IX10-TRANEKIT-INTERNAL-DATA)

If the cellular signal strength is strong at the Tracer BAS enclosure location (maximum bars), order the
Internal Mount Kit. The Internal Mount Kit is designed for use where a strong cellular signal exists at or
near the Tracer BAS enclosure. The cellular router must be installed inside the Trane enclosure or in
close proximity of the enclosure.

Remote Mount Kit (Part# IX10-TRANEKIT-REMOTE-DATA)

In cases where the cellular signal is moderate or poor (less than maximum bars) in the BAS installation
location, order the Remote Mount Kit. The Remote Mount Kit is designed for use when a strong cellular
signal is absent near the Tracer SC+. In these situations, the cellular router must be mounted in an area
of the building where a strong signal exists.
Note: Location must not be more than 300 ft from the Tracer BAS controller due to Ethernet cabling

There are two tools that have been created to support the development of your projects: CSET Shapes
and Estimator Assemblies.
Estimator assemblies are provided for the Trane Cellular Router Solution, which include both cellular
router kits.
