About Pando Secure
Pando Secure reader will continue to be referred as Pando Secure
or reader in this document.
Pando Secure is a Hi-O reader with the opportunity to be
able to communicate through Hi-O or the old CL protocol.
Hi-O should be used primarily if both sockets are available in
LCU or DAC.
By default the Pando Secure reads serial number on the
cards but the reader can be configured for sector reading of
MIFARE Classic, applications reading of MIFARE DESFire,
iCLASS or SEOS. All configuration are made with a
customer specific Setup card.
Installation
Hi-O devices are easy to install, all devices are connected in
parallel and just using four wires. Units on the Hi-O bus gets
its supply voltage from the DAC 530, DAC564 or LCU9101.

Information
Pando Secure is a combine Hi-O and CL readers
Pando Secure can when in Hi-O mode be connected to the Hi-O
DAC500, DAC530, and DAC564. In CL mode it can work with
DAC420, DAC430 and DAC44. When connected to a LCU it can
work as an elevator reader.
Hi-O installation
Connect the CAN bus to CAN-H and CAN-L
Connect the power to terminals, +12 V & 0V in the DAC/LCU.
Indications Hi-O Mode DIP6 = ON
Green: lights when the reader is uninitialized at the Hi-O bus. Pando
reader is not locked to a specific Hi-O bus.
Red: lights when the reader is locked to a specific Hi-O bus,
indicating that the reader is locked and encrypted to the bus.
Indications CL mode DIP6 = OFF
Green: TX, activity, via CL-20
Red: RX, activity, via CL-20
Delayed reactions at A and B keys
To delay the A and B key to avoid unwanted maneuvers set the
DIP 8 to ON.
Note! This switch also activates the backlight when the PIN LED are
lit. (Function is v
alid from firmware version 1.05.30)
Configuration of sector reading
Turn the power of and on to the reader by detach and
1.
attach the "plug able" terminal.
Green indication flashes for 90 seconds.
2.
Before it stops flashing, show the Setup card to the

of the site.
Note! If a card presented to a Pando Secure reader doesn't have
encryption keys corresponding with the reader the reader will not
indicate that anything is wrong and the reader will not send any
data.
