7.1

Filter

The IR LD 1.0 uses a hydrophobic
filter cartridge that filters out wa-
ter, dirt, and oil but allows air and
gases to pass through. A new or
clean filter is a pure white color; a
dirty or clogged filter will severely
affect the unit's performance. To
see the filter, remove the filter tip
(see section 7.1.2).
!
To ensure optimal sensor
performance and longevity: the
filter must be replaced when
visibly dirty—or when the Check
filter screen is displayed (see
Fig. 14).
i
If the IR LD 1.0 is suspected of
not properly detecting, chang-
ing the filter will likely restore
proper detection.
If the IR LD 1.0 is exposed to wa-
ter, the filter will prevent water
from entering the probe and the
unit, but the filter will become
clogged.
!
If the IR LD 1.0 exposed to
water:
1. Immediately switch OFF power.
2. Point probe tip downwards.
3. Remove/replace filter (see sec-
tion 7.1.2)
4. Ensure all components are dry
before use.

i
If the filter becomes wet but
not dirty, it may be allowed to
fully dry and then be reused.
