Selecting reverse gear
CAUTIONS
Do not engage reverse gear when
the vehicle is moving. This can cause
damage to the transmission.
Fully depress the clutch pedal and
wait for three seconds before you
select reverse gear.

On some vehicles it is necessary to raise
the collar whilst selecting reverse gear.

WARNINGS
It is not possible to tow-start or
push-start a vehicle fitted with an
automatic transmission. See Using
booster cables (page 119).
Apply the brakes before moving the
selector lever and keep them
applied until you are ready to move
off.

Transmission

Note: A cold engine has a higher idle
speed. This will increase the tendency for
your vehicle to creep when you have
selected a drive gear.
Note: The 6-speed transmission
performs a series of automated checks
when the ignition is turned to the off
position. A slight clicking sound may be
heard and is considered a normal part of
operation.
