Replacing a module without a programming device

General procedure
The configuration data of the CP is stored on the CPU. This makes it possible to replace this
module with a module of the same type (identical article number) without an engineering
station.
The CP adopts the configuration data from the CPU during startup.
5.2.3

Resetting to factory settings

Delivery state of the CP
The reset to factory settings restores the CP to the delivery state.
You perform the functions on the engineering station in online mode.
When resetting the CPU, note the effects on the CP. You will find the description in the CPU
manual /3/ (Page 49).
Effects on the CP
The following data is deleted on a reset to factory settings:
• Configuration data of the CP
The following data is retained on a reset to factory settings:
• The MAC address of the CP
• Address parameters of the PN/IE interface of the CP
The configuration data of the CP is retained on the CPU.
Recognition of the CP
Note
Loss of reachability
The CP is no longer recognized after the reset and is no longer reachable.
Alternatively, follow these steps so that the CP is recognized again after the reset to factory
settings:
• Supply voltage OFF > ON
• Pulling and plugging the CP
The CP adopts the configuration data from the CPU.
