In order to allow global changes to the FLARM system, every
Mandatory firmware update
FLARM/PowerFLARM device needs to be updated with the latest
firmware version at least once per year (rolling 365 days). This has
to be part of the Aircraft Maintenance Program (AMP). The entry in
the AMP is to be made during installation. A new update shall be
required within 365 days of the previous update.
Each firmware also has a fixed expiry date, to avoid that devices
which have not been updated are transmitting obsolete data. All
FLARM/PowerFLARM devices will start warning about imminent
expiry 60 days prior to the expiry date.
Butterfly (BF) software/FlarmNET update
Copy Butterfly software (.BFW) and/or flarmnet (.BFN) to
USB stick.
