Hybrid cable connection

The hybrid cable is connected at the back of the central unit, where its two optical cables and the
supply line for the sensor electronics are attached, as shown in the picture below. For hybrid
cables longer than 500 meters, an additional external power supply must be used.

Removing the protective tube
Keep the fiber end protected, by the protective tube, until it is time for connection. Only
authorized personnel are entitled to remove the protective tube and proceed with the
connecting operation.
Note
Handlig of the hybrid cable
Unless the protective tube is removed from the fibre for the first time, the condition of the fibre
ends need to be checked with a fibre microscope (e.g. Optical Fiber Inspection Scope VS 300)
and in case be cleaned with adequate solvants like iso-propanol and a soft cloth to assure the
optical quality and the optimal performance of the system.
