8. Note on the disposal of used batteries
The following notice is addressed to those who use batteries or products with built-in batteries and no longer resell them in the form delivered
to them (end users):
1. Batteries must not be disposed of with household waste.
You are legally obligated to return used batteries so that proper disposal can be ensured. You can hand in used batteries at a municipal collection
point or at your local retailer. As a distributor of batteries, we are also obligated to take back used batteries, whereby our obligation to take back
used batteries is limited to used batteries of the type that we carry or have carried as new batteries in our product range. You can therefore either
return used batteries of the aforementioned type to us with sufficient postage or hand them in directly to our dispatch warehouse at the following
address free of charge: MODSTER, Wirtschaftspark 9, AT-8530 Deutschlandsberg
2. Meaning of the battery symbols
Batteries are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out trash can (see below). This symbol indicates that batteries must not be disposed of in hou-
sehold waste. For batteries containing more than 0.0005 mass percent mercury, more than 0.002 mass percent cadmium, or more than 0.004 mass
percent lead, the chemical name of the respective pollutant is located below the trash can symbol - where „Cd" stands for cadmium, „Pb" stands
for lead, and „Hg" stands for mercury."
3. Starter batteries
The following special features apply to the sale of starter batteries: According to § 10 BattG, the seller is obliged to charge a deposit of 7.50 euros
including VAT to end users if the end user does not return a used starter battery to the seller at the time of purchase of the new starter battery. The
Customer shall receive a deposit voucher when purchasing a starter battery. When returning the old starter battery to a collection point set up by
the public waste disposal authority, the Customer must have the disposal confirmed by means of a stamp and signature. The customer then has
the option of returning this confirmation to the seller for reimbursement of the deposit, stating his customer number. Alternatively, the customer
can also return his old starter battery directly to the seller together with the deposit receipt for refund of the deposit. (Due to the dangerous goods
regulations, shipping the old battery to the seller is not permitted).

quirements.
b) (Rechargable) Batteries
As an end user, you are obligated by law (battery ordinance) to return all used batteries and

Batteries / accumulators containing harmful substances are marked with the symbols be-
low, which indicate the prohibition of disposal via household waste. The designations for
the heavy metal are Cd = cadmium, Hg = mercury, Pb = lead (designation stands on battery,
for example, under the rubbish symbols on the left).
You can dispose of your used batteries free of charge at the collection points of your muni-
cipality, our branches or wherever batteries are sold.
They thus fulfill the statutory obligations and contribute to environmental protection.
