Replacement cable kit

7. Remove the cable anchor from the bracket on the
transmission case.

9. Remove and discard the self-propel drive cable.
10. Tip the mower back onto its wheels to operating
position.
Installing the Cable
1. Remove and retain the serial plate from the top side
of the frame.
2. Using the rear serial tag mounting hole, as shown in
Figure 7, carefully drill a 5/8 inch (16mm) diameter
hole through the mower housing (hole can be drilled at
an angle). Deburr the hole.

3. Place the serial tag on the left side of the frame in the
location shown in Figure 7 and mark the mounting
hole locations. Remove the plate and drill two .143 inch
(3.63 mm) diameter holes. Install the serial tag using
the two rivets from the kit.
4. Insert the spring end of the new cable into the hole
drilled in step 2.
5. Tip the mower onto its right side.
6.
Reattach the cable spring end on the transmission
activation lever (reference Figure 6). Insert the cable
anchor into the hole in the bracket on the transmission
case (see Figure 5).
7. Reinstall the belt onto the transmission and rotate the
transmission upward.
8. Reinstall the transmission down stop and belt tension
spring.
9. Tip the mower back onto its wheels to operating
position.
10. Reinstall the fuel tank.
11. Route the cable upward along the left side of the
handle.
12. Secure the upper end of the cable up to the traction
lever.
