Parental controls
With parental controls, you can define rules for when your children use your smartphone. For
this, the Family Link app must be installed on your smartphone as well as that of the child. With
Family Link, you can set up rules that ensure exposure to digital media is age-appropriate, such
as

Keeping an eye on a child's activities
•
Managing a child's apps
•
Approving downloads and purchases, and hiding age-inappropriate content in the Google
Play Store
•
Installing apps recommended by teachers
•
Setting time limits and blocking the child's device from your smartphone
•
Ascertaining the location of your child

Select whether the device is being used by "A child or teenager" or "A parent".
Parent: Download and install the Family Link app
Child or teenager: Create a Google account for the child and connect it to the child's device
Start the Family Link app on your smartphone

Then you can define rules for usage of the child's smartphone, query the location of the child
and view usage protocols and notifications from the app.

If you do not have a smartphone yourself, you can also configure the settings for
protection of minors from a browser on a PC.

Setting up multiple users
You can enable your smartphone for more guests/users. All users receive a separate area they
can set up themselves, such as own start screen, apps, accounts and contacts. Different user icon
colours denote different users.
The guest area can be restarted every time there is a guest change. All settings are reset to the
defaults. The guest area cannot be provided with a display lock.
It is only possible to set up new guests/users from the Settings menu of the main user.
The updating of apps is possible and applicable for all users.
