Origin Effects M-EQ DRIVER
Controls
DRIVE: Turn clockwise to increase the amount of overdrive. Lower settings should be used when boost-
ing an amp on the edge of breakup. Higher settings are capable of generating valve-like overdrive within the
pedal. Balance with the MIDS control to tweak the amount of mid-emphasis in your clean or overdriven
tones.
LEVEL: Sets the output level from the pedal. Turn clockwise to push the input of your amp. Keep this
control set lower when using higher DRIVE settings.
MIDS: This control increases the level of mid boost. The mid boost circuit is placed before the push-pull
output stage where the overdrive is generated. This means that high MIDS levels will cause the pedal to
overdrive more at the frequency being boosted.
Between fully counterclockwise and the noon position, this control gives a moderate mid boost, perfect
for lead tones that jump out of the mix and for pushing an amp into natural overdrive. Above the noon po-
sition, there is a high level of mid boost. This gives a very focused, resonant tone and will push the pedal's
output stage into thick overdrive.
KCS SWITCH: Selects between three mid boost frequencies - 0.8, 1.0 or 1.3 Kilocycles per second (the
old name for Kilohertz). The choice of different frequencies allows the M-EQ DRIVER to accurately boost
the desired part of a guitar's signal, which can vary with different instruments. This can help to fatten up
single coil pickups, add presence to darker guitars or create over-the-top, mid-rich drive tones.
CUT: Turn clockwise to progressively roll off more high-end. Higher settings will result in a typical warm
lead tone while lower settings will give a bright, cutting tone.
ADAPT SWITCH: In position I, this engages the CUT control's Adaptive Circuity, reducing the effect
of the CUT control as the pedal cleans up from picking dynamics or guitar volume changes. This results in
a smooth transition from warm overdrive to bright clean tones. In position O, the Adaptive Circuitry is
disabled and the effect of the CUT control is always the same. This adaptive behaviour will be more notice-
able with higher CUT seetings and when the pedal is more overdriven.
Tip: To hear the ADAPT switch in action, select position I. Dial in some DRIVE, turn the CUT control up
and listen to your tone. Now, roll your guitar volume down to clean up. You will hear the effect of the
CUT control reduce, resulting in more treble as the tone gets cleaner.
