2. Video and Snapshot Archives
I am trying to locate my previously recorded video/snapshot images - where are the archived
Videos and Snapshots located?
Archive Location
The snapshots taken by Lorex mCam are archived on your PC hard drive (usually your C: drive).
The Microsoft Windows specification states that all application data should be stored in:
C:\Documents and Settings\YourUserName\Application Data\DMC
YourUserName is the username you use when you log in to Windows. For example, if your login
name is Joe User, the mCam videos and snapshots will be stored below the following root
directory:
C:\Documents and Settings\joeuser\Application Data\DMC
The previously saved files are saved in two locations:
• All snapshots are stored in the 'Images' subdirectory as JPG files
• All videos are stored in the 'Videos' subdirectory as WMV files.
• The subdirectories below these follow a pattern of YYYY\MM\DD, with the first directory
specifying the year, then the directory below specifying the month, and the directory below
specifying the day. For example, all videos and snapshots taken by Joe User with Lorex
mCam on Jan. 27, 2007 will be in the following two directories:
C:\Documents and Settings\joeuser\Application Data\DMC\Videos\2007\01\27\*.WMV
C:\Documents and Settings\joeuser\Application Data\DMC\Images\2007\01\27\*.JPG
The directory is fixed in version mCam 1.23 and prior, and cannot be changed.
