Listening w ith the desired sound
In addition to the five kinds of equalizer patterns w hich
have been preset at the factory for use as reference, one
equalizer pattern created manually by the user can be
stored in memory and recalled any time.
When playing back a tape recorded by applying the
equalizer effect, be sure to turn off the equalizer.
Selecting an equalizer pattern
It is possible to select the desired equalizer pattern according to the category of the played music. The graphic equalizer
effect can be recorded together w ith the sound.
When equalizer or another effect is applied to the
sound, the sound w ith the applied effect can be re-
corded. (Recording and playback of the sound w ith
sound effect are impossible w ith a component con-
nected to the M D jacks.)
Demonstration
A demonstration of the tone adjustment functions including the
equalizer, SRS 3D, EX. BASS and NB CIRCUIT can be performed
in sequence.

1 Play desired music.
2 Select the desired equalizer pattern.
Press so that "DEM O ON" is displayed.
For the systems including the C-H6 :
DEMO
Press and hold
for more than
2 seconds.
For the systems including the C-H5 :
(equalizer function)
In regard to equalizer adjustment
The setting items are displayed only w hen the equalizer is set to
M ANUAL (user memory).
÷ On the remote control unit, each press of the EQ key sw itches the
equalizer patterns.
÷ The equalizer effect cannot be sw itched on and off during recording.
Equalizer patterns w hich can be recalled
1 ROCK ...................... (Rock)
2 POP......................... (Popular)
3 DISCO .................... (Discotheque)
4 JAZZ ....................... (Jazz)
5 CLASSIC ................ (Classic)
6 M ANUAL ............... An equalizer effect can be created
manually and stored here.
7 EQ OFF ................... (EQ ON not lit ... Equalizer cancelled)

÷ To end demonstration, press the key again. The "DEM O OFF"
characters scroll aw ay and the demonstration is cancelled.
÷ Even w hen the pow er is turned OFF during demonstration, the
demonstration continues w ithout stopping. Press the DEM O key
again to stop it.
